Women’s Art at PAFA

Join the Smith College Club of Philadelphia on Friday, November 30, 2012 for a special tour of the Linda Lee Alter Collection of Art by Women at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, America’s first school and museum of fine art. This collection spans most of the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st century, and includes such renowned artists as Louise Bourgeois, Alice Neel, and Kiki Smith; it is also notable for its inclusion of artists of diverse backgrounds such as Faith Ringgold and Kara Walker.  PAFA received the collection of nearly 400 works of art from Ms. Alter in 2011 and this will be its debut exhibition.  There will be a lavishly illustrated catalog of the collection available for sale in PAFA’s store, Portfolio. The collection will also be available online at http://www.pafa.org. Be one of the first to have a tour of this wonderful exhibition!
