For this month’s On the 18th we will enjoy a Fall Happy Hour at Bud & Marilyn’s in Center City. Bud & Marilyn’s is located at 1234 Locust St and come meet Liz ’97 any time between 5:30-7:30 (Liz will be there at 5 if you want to get there a little earlier). Stay as little or as long as you like!
The Philly Smith Club is also collecting books this month for the student-initiated rebuild of the Kensington High School library. The Inquirer article on this phenomenal project lead by the Kensington High senior class can be found here.
They are especially looking for the following genres:
- Young Adult Novels
- Graphic Novels
- Anime
- Comic Books
- Biographies
- Dictionaries (Spanish, English, French, Chinese, etc.)
- Technical (engineering, nursing, career books, etc.)
- Music books
What was your favorite book in high school or a book you wished you had read in high school? Give it back to the city! Donations can be brought to the On the 18th happy hour or contact phillysmithclub@gmail.com for more details.
